What is the qualification’s content and structure?

This qualification covers the core knowledge and understanding needed to work in the customer service sector.

The qualification comprises of 55 credits and has a minimum of 289-375 guided learning hours.

Learners must complete a minimum of 55 credits including 31 credits from Mandatory Group A and a minimum of 24 credits from Optional Group B and/or Optional Group C. A maximum of 9 credits may come from Optional Group C. A minimum of 40 credits must be achieved at level 3 or above.

The requirement for at least 10 credits on the QCF for the knowledge element and 10 credits for the competence element will be completed through the mandatory units. By completing the mandatory units the apprentice will achieve 12 credits for competence and 19 credits for knowledge.

Learners will complete mandatory units in organising and delivering customer service, resolving customers’ problems, managing personal and professional development, understanding the customer service environment, principles of business and understanding customers and customer retention.

Learners will then choose from a range of more specialised customer service and sector contextualised units that align to the duties of their role. These include gather, analyse and interpret customer feedback, monitor the quality of customer service interactions, use service partnerships to deliver customer service, negotiating in a business environment, managing team and individuals’ performance and collaborating with other departments.

The qualification comprises of 58 credits and has a minimum of 282 - 432 guided learning hours.

Learners must achieve a minimum of 58 credits. 27 credits must be achieved from the mandatory group.
