Overview

This AAT level 2 qualification in accounting will effectively develop your knowledge and skills to perform in the accounting and finance sectors. This AAT qualification is ideal for anyone thinking to work as an accountant. Let us tell you that nationally agreed standards of competence are the basis of this course. You will not stop at this level 2, but you can gain progression for further studies level. At completion, you will become qualified for AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting Level 3.

KBM will also prepare you for digital/computerised accounting. You will learn accounting software like Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, SAPA, SAGE Compliance, Excel, Xero and Sage One. Our accounting experts will help you learn digital and cloud accounting software. The course will make you capable of undertaking tasks at an introductory level in accounting or finance. This AAT course will make you capable of:

What does the course involve?

You will cover the following five mandatory units as detailed below.

  1. Bookkeeping Transactions: You will gain knowledge and of double-entry bookkeeping and it’s allied processes. You will become capable of checking credit notes, accuracy, remittances, invoices, and account & petty cash vouchers statements.
  2. Bookkeeping Controls: Build a solid knowledge of payment methods, controls in a bookkeeping system, and learn bank reconciliation with the cash book.
  3. Elements of Costing: Here you will gain knowledge and skills for using cost-recording systems and their techniques. You will become capable of providing information on actual and budgeted costs and income.
  4. Using Accounting Software: Develop efficient accounting software skills to process sales and purchase transactions properly, bank and cash transactions, perform period-end routine tasks, and produce reports.
  5. Work Effectively in Accountancy and Finance: Gain a strong understanding of the finance function within an organisation, including personal skills development, working effectively, ethics & sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

How much can I earn?

After completing this course, you will be earning around £20,000 to £30,000 annually based on your experience

What is entry requirements?

TThere is no previous qualification or experience requirement. We recommend that a basic understanding of English and Mathematics with a solid commitment to your accounting career. You must be 18 when joining this course.

What is the course duration?

You can complete this in 6 months if you can study 6-8 hours weekly. Usually, it takes around 12 months to complete.

AAT will assess your competence through computer-based assessments (CBAs). CBAs are a modern and up to date assessment method. It will determine the practical tasks you are currently performing, or you will perform in future. You have the liberty to sit for assessments when you are ready, upon your choice of schedule. You will get your CBAs results when you complete your exam - AT THE SPOT.
